Why this matters

When Monitors flags a cost spike, the fix usually belongs to an engineering team, and that team might track their work in Jira. Now you can hand the incident to them from CloudZero in one click.

The Jira ticket and the CloudZero incident stay in step. When the engineer resolves the ticket, the incident resolves too. You track the work in one place, and the status you see in CloudZero matches what the team is doing.

What we built

Jira integration for Monitors incidents. Select Create Work Item on any incident to open a Jira ticket with the details filled in, including the incident title, cost impact, start date, monitor name, the AI summary of the likely cause, and a link back to the incident.

Status syncs both ways. Move the ticket to In Progress and the incident shows Investigating. Resolve it in Jira and the incident resolves. Reopen the ticket and the incident reopens. Changes made in CloudZero go to Jira the same way, and the most recent change wins.

Status changes from Jira show in the incident’s activity log with the ticket key, so you can see that a change came from Jira and which ticket made it.

How it works

Connect Jira in App Integrations, if you haven’t already. Open an incident in Monitors and select Create Work Item. Pick the project and issue type, review the details, and create the ticket. The linked ticket and its status appear on the incident. You can unlink it at any time and create a new one.
