One Integration, Wherever Your Team Works Why This Matters Beyond Engineering Built For How Teams Actually Work In 2026 Getting Started

Earlier this month, we announced the CloudZero Claude Code Plugin and the CloudZero AI Hub — the first step toward putting your cloud cost data directly inside the AI tools your team already uses. The feedback from customers was clear. They said engineers and FinOps teams wanted more tools and more ways to get answers from CloudZero without switching context.

Today, we’re delivering more.

CloudZero now supports 12 more AI coding agents and environments through our MCP (Model Context Protocol) server integration. That means if your team works in Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codex, or any of nine other popular AI tools, you can now connect CloudZero directly and start asking your AI questions about your cloud and AI spend. Find more information here.

One Integration, Wherever Your Team Works

The underlying technology is the CloudZero MCP server. Install it once with a single npx command, and CloudZero’s cost intelligence becomes available inside your AI agent of choice. Your AI has CloudZero data behind it.

The full list of newly supported tools: VS Code (via Copilot or any MCP-compatible extension), Cursor, GitHub Copilot CLI, Gemini CLI, Cline (VS Code Extension), Codex, Zed, Cline CLI, Goose, OpenCode, Antigravity, and MCPorter.

That’s on top of Claude Code, which we launched earlier this month. We now support 13 AI environments, and we’re just getting started.

Why This Matters Beyond Engineering

When we built the Claude Code Plugin, the foremost audience was engineers who wanted to query cloud costs while they code. But from day one, we’ve been thinking about a broader question: what if anyone, not just engineers, not just FinOps practitioners, could get answers from CloudZero just by asking in plain language?

The same MCP integration that lets an engineer ask, “Which microservice is driving the most cost this sprint?” also enables a finance leader to ask, “How is our AI infrastructure spend trending compared to last quarter?” or “which team is responsible for the most AI costs”, or a CFO to query, “What’s our cost per customer for our top five accounts?” CloudZero’s platform already holds that data.

What we’re doing now is making it available in the tools people already use to think, analyze, and work.

This is a meaningful expansion in who CloudZero is for. Cloud cost intelligence has historically been the domain of engineers and FinOps teams. We believe the next chapter looks different: cost data right in the hands of finance leaders, product teams, and business decision-makers through easy to use AI interfaces. This integration is how we get there.

“CloudZero has always been about giving people the right cloud and AI cost data at the right moment,” said Scott Castle, CloudZero’s chief product officer. “Now with 13 AI tool integrations, we’re changing what ‘the right moment’ means. It’s not limited to when someone views a dashboard. It’s when they’re in their AI agent, in the middle of doing their work, and they need an answer. CloudZero is there.”

Built For How Teams Actually Work In 2026

AI coding tools are everywhere. Cursor and Copilot are mainstream; Gemini CLI and Codex are accelerating. Engineers are doing more of their thinking inside these environments, asking questions, getting answers, iterating fast. Finance and operations teams are catching up quickly. The companies that win the next few years will be the ones that put accurate, trustworthy cost data directly inside these workflows.

CloudZero’s MCP server integration is designed exactly for this moment. A single connection. Broad compatibility. And the full depth of CloudZero’s cost intelligence — unit economics, custom dimensions, per-team attribution, AI spend tracking — available wherever your AI agent lives.

Getting Started

Installation takes about 60 seconds. Run the npx add-mcp command for your tool of choice, authenticate with your CloudZero account, and you’re live. Full documentation and all supported clients are available in the CloudZero docs.
